THATCamp Pedagogy is an unconference, founded as a way to bring together Digital Humanities theorists and practitioners, Technorhetoric scholars and instructors, and electronic pedagogy experts and advocates. Often, these individuals are engaged in complementary research projects, challenged by analogous pedagogical issues, and concerned with similar institutional agendas; therefore, THATCamp Pedagogy serves as a space to engage in challenging and meaningful conversation in hopes of learning from one another.
We invited faculty, administrators, research and archival librarians, and students interested in the confluence of technology and pedagogy at all colleges and universities to discuss the rewards and challenges of teaching with technology in institutions of higher education.
The organizers of THATCamp Pedagogy placed a higher value on student feedback by facilitating active dialogue between students and teachers. Therefore, we encouraged undergraduate and graduate students to apply for THATCamp Pedagogy in order to lend their voices to the scholarship that both positions them as subjects and directly impacts their learning environments.
THATCamp Pedagogy 2011 was organized by Matt Schultz and hosted by Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York on Saturday, October 15th, and Sunday, October 16th, 2011.
